It was officially announced at PDC. Tim Heuer has more details. Biggies for me look like printing, Chrome support, right click, mouse wheel, implicit theming, dependency object binding, drop target, keyboard access in full-screen, cross-domain change for trusted apps. Excited about this release. My guess is it will go live before mid-2010. I am loving the quick release cycles with Silverlight.

Firefox repeatedly asks for proxy authentication

I use firefox mostly at home (mainly for firebug, greasemonkey, YSlow). Sometimes Chrome (for speed mainly). At work mainly IE and Firefox. However, after I updated to FF3 I started seeing the proxy authentication prompt being shown repeatedly, even after I typed in the correct info the first time. This is what is needed.

1. Type about:config in address bar.
2. In Filter type network.negotiate (after clicking "I'll be careful, I promise!" - love the FF warnings). Now you should see a handful of settings.
3. Double-click on network.negotiate-auth.allow-proxies and set it to false. It seems counterintuitive, but you set it to false to make it work with the ISA proxy.

After this change, I was back to using FF3 at work.

jQuery and Visual Studio 2008

I was trying to get VS2008 and jQuery working. I did the following -

1. Verified I had VS2008 SP1
2. Installed VS 2008 Patch KB958502 to Support "-vsdoc.js" Intellisense Files
3. Downloaded the jQuery library (jquery-1.3.2.js) and associated vsdoc.js fxeile (jquery-1.3.2-vsdoc2.js)
4. Add these 2 files to the project
5. Add references to jquery-1.3.2.js in the HEAD section of aspx file.

After these steps, I expected things to work, but I started to see this unhandled exception (Object doesn't support this property or method) occured in typelibbuilder.exe [4620]. I spent the next hour trying to figure out what was wrong. The simple fix was to rename the associated -vsdoc.js file from the default jquery-1.3.2-vsdoc2.js to jquery-1.3.2-vsdoc.js. That was it, and everything worked great.
